Isn't technology great?

A third grade curriculum objective is to be able to write friendly letters correctly.  In December, we wrote letters to Santa, paying careful attention to the 5 main parts of a friendly letter, capitalization rules, and punctuation standards.  The best part about this was the return letters that Santa wrote US!

First we read them to ourselves.

WOW!  That smile says it all, doesn't it?

Next we share them with our friends.

What a great time of year... so magical!

How does he know that??

Looks like Santa knows the correct way to write a friendly letter too.  I think he deserves an A+!!

Why do elephants flap their ears?  In science we learn about how animals adapt to their environments.

We created a real "web" out of string to show how producers and consumers are all interdependent on each other.

We wrote, practiced, and then shared our silly scarcity stories.
